After months of planning, tryouts and meetings, 40 Canyon Lake youths hopped on buses provided by the City of Canyon Lake for The California State Parks Lake Perris Junior Lifeguard Program that was organized by the Canyon Lake Enrichment Activities & Recreation Foundation (CLEAR). Those participating in the program were required to tryout by passing a swim test that were conducted in the Canyon Lake Lodge Pool. The City of Canyon Lake, through ARPA funds, paid for the cost of the buses from Canyon Lake to Lake Perris. Participation in each session was $260.00, with a $20.00 discount for siblings, and included a rash guard. The C.L.E.A.R. Foundation helped sponsor those with financial hardships.
