Pirates and Wenches to join Yacht Club tomorrow

Canyon Lake Yacht Club’s Third Annual Pirates & Wenches Cruise and Tie-up Party is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 6:15 p.m. The event will be held at the Holiday Harbor Guest Docks and, according to historical records, there just might be a water battle between pirate ships during the festivities.

Pirate Captain Brian Oltman, in a proclamation to his fellow pirate captains, declared, “Those scurvy scums who dare to attack my magnificent frigate will be drenched by my crew of pirates and wenches. Arrggghhh!”

Pirate Captain James Lange responded, saying, “We will repel all attempts to ambush us. Any cowardly pirate who tries to approach us will receive no mercy from me and my crew. They will only witness the sight of our Jolly Roger.”

The Pirates & Wenches event, which first started in 2021, has gained popularity over the years, with participants dressing in elaborate pirate attire. The event kicks off at the Holiday Harbor Guest Docks, where pirate ships and crews will gather.

The day’s activities include indulging in food and grog, taking a cruise around the Main Lake, and concluding with a tie-up involving swimming and chaotic fun, all in the spirit of good-natured amusement.

The Pirates & Wenches Cruise and Tie-up Party is open to all members of the Yacht Club, as well as their guests.
