Mermaids invite community to an afternoon tea on Aug.5

Mermaids of Canyon Lake invite women of the community to its Third Annual Afternoon Tea. The event will take place on Aug. 5 at 12:30 p.m. with lunch being served at 1:30 p.m. With a mermaid theme, the afternoon tea is a popular event each year. There is a mermaid contest for guests wishing to dress up and enter the contest the day of the event. Costumes are encouraged, but not mandatory. Attendees are invited to unleash their creative abilities and embrace their inner mermaid.

Guests will receive a delicious lunch of a variety of tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts, along with dainty drinks to choose from. The event will have entertainment, games, a silent auction, various vendors, and much more. It is a day designed to bond with fellow mermaids.

“We’re looking forward to this much-anticipated event,” Natassia Wright, the event chair and the club’s Ways and Means co-chair, said. “It is an all-time favorite, and I am honored to be chairing it for a second time. This event is like none other and is sure to be a splash for all who attend.”

The event is full of details, cute decor, and delicious food, Natassia said. She promises the entertainment to be the best part of the event.

“When attending the Mermaid Tea, you are sure to find yourself in the best company, surrounded by a great group of fun and friendly women who love all things nautical and most of all Canyon Lake,” Natassia said. “I would like to invite you to come join us for this very special function. Tickets are available for $55.00 per person which is all inclusive and includes the luncheon, beverages and entertainment. Tickets can be purchased through the club website, www.mermaidsofcanyonlake.com, or by contacting Nicole Taylor at 949-878-1161.
