Tour de Canyon Lake bicyclists ride around lake

The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club held its annual Tour de Canyon Lake bike ride Saturday and about 20 people participated. The club collected pet supplies, food, and monetary donations for Animal Friends of the Valleys from the participants.

Among the participants were individuals riding various types of bicycles, including e-bikes, road bikes, tri bikes, and a tandem bike.

For a number of the riders, it marked their first time completing a full circle around Canyon Lake. Fortunately, the more experienced riders in the group provided motivation and encouragement to the newcomers, fostering a supportive environment throughout the event.

With the sun shining brightly, the weather was perfect, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the morning.

The club expressed its gratitude to volunteers Maria Kivrizis, Laura Heglund, and Lorie McCormick, as well as all the participants and donors who contributed to the cause.

“Their selflessness and generosity helped make the event a success,” Club member Karin Cassidy said. “They ensured that Animal Friends of the Valleys would receive the necessary support for their mission.”
