Firefighters hold Golf Cart Show

Over 1,000 people walked through the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association Golf Cart Show Saturday at the Canyon Lake Town Center. The association’s inaugural event attempted to showcase its dedication and commitment to the City of Canyon Lake.

The event kicked off with a golf cart show, featuring approximately 50 participating carts. While it was not mandatory for participants to decorate their golf carts, many took the opportunity to showcase their creativity.

The association ran the Golf Cart Show like a Car Show, welcoming all types of carts, from one-of-a-kind carts to tricked-out carts, and from small to large. The event attracted a variety of carts, including old classics, brand new models, and even eccentric and wild designs. Participants were encouraged to have fun and enjoy the day while showing off their carts.

In addition to the golf cart show, the event featured 24 vendors and three food trucks, offering a wide range of products and delicious treats. Attendees enjoyed the lively atmosphere, with music playing in the background and various games and activities available.

Exciting prizes were up for grabs, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Trophies were made by Canyon Lake Mobile, a new business in the Canyon Lake Town Center.

Tony Schwarzman and Tim O’Marra of the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association were the presenters of the Best In Show Award, given to Lisa DeCarlo, and the People’s Choice award, which was given to Kevin Sieker. The awards recognized the outstanding efforts and creativity displayed by the participants. Members of the community gathered for a group picture at the end of the event. Smiles were notably on their faces as the day came to an end.

The Canyon Lake Fire Department was one of the vendors supporting the first inaugural Golf Cart Show put on by the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association.

The Canyon Lake Firefighters Association, consisting of nine professional firefighters, established the association on January 1, 2022, with the aim of serving the City of Canyon Lake more comprehensively. They wanted to extend their support beyond their duty hours and ensure the long-term success of the Canyon Lake Fire Department.

“The inaugural CLFA Golf cart show went exceptionally well,” Events Coordinator Tim O’Marra said. “We thank our local businesses, vendors, City, POA, and community for making this idea come to fruition within the expedited time frame we established. Prestige Golf Carts and Canyon Lake Mobile were two of our biggest contributors ensuring this event was a success. The continuous positive feedback we received from attendees and vendors was heartfelt. CLFA assures all parties that this will be an anticipated yearly event.”
