Miss Canyon Lake Pageant contestants to meet next week

Contestant applications for The Miss Canyon Lake Scholarship Pageant are being accepted on Monday and Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the East Gate Annex Building. The pageant, which has been a tradition for many years, will take place again in July after shutting down since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Canyon Lake Scholarship Pageant places emphasis on community service and education and is not a beauty pageant. During their reign, members of the Royal Court will be required to promote community service and educational development.

Those entering the pageant must be residents of Canyon Lake, although Canyon Lake girls attending college away from home are also eligible. The age range is from 5 years old to 25 years old. There is also a Mrs. Category and that applies to any age.

There will be ongoing rehearsals up until the date of the pageant. The pageant will be held on July 15 in the Holiday Bay Room of the Canyon Lake Lodge.

“We have not been able to do a pageant since COVID, so it will be great for the young women of this community to get involved as they have for years in the past,” Pageant Director CoCo Morrison said. “Come join the fun and make memories of a lifetime.”
