Free ‘How to Drive a Boat’ clinic tomorrow

A “How to Drive a Boat” clinic put on by the Canyon Lake Yacht Club tomorrow is primarily for ages 12-18, but everyone from 12 to 105 is welcome. The clinic begins at noon tomorrow at the Holiday Harbor Guest Docks.

Instructors for each type of power boat will teach the basics of boat operations. Boat types will include wakeboard, ski, deck and pontoon boats. Participants will learn the basics at the dock, including boating safety and navigation protocols, and then go out on the water to watch the instructor demonstrate what was taught under power.

This unique event will provide participants with the opportunity to learn and master the principles and techniques of operating various types of boats that are popular in Canyon Lake.

Individuals ages 12 and above are encouraged to register for the clinic, which promises to be an engaging and educational experience. For participants under 18, parental approval and release are required to attend the clinic.

To secure a spot in the clinic, interested individuals must complete the advance registration process. Registration can be conveniently completed online at the following website: https://www.canyonlakeyachtclub.com/LearnBoat-Register.php.

In addition to providing valuable knowledge and skills to participants, this clinic also marks the inauguration of the Yacht Club‘s new Auxiliary Fleet. This fleet is specifically designed to cater to individuals between the ages of 12 and 18 who possess a keen interest in boats and aspire to develop proficiency in operating them.

It is important to note that attendance at the clinic is free, further highlighting the Yacht Club‘s commitment to promoting boating education and fostering a love for boating activities among participants of all ages.
