Canyon Laker Michael Davis, fresh off a World Cup race in Europe, is set to race today at the inaugural Para-cycling World Cup in the United States. The race will take place in Huntsville, AL, which will be the first Para-cycling Road World Cup to ever be held in the United States.
Following successful domestic races in the previous years, Huntsville was chosen as the host city for the UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup final in 2023. With over 350 athletes representing more than 40 countries, including a strong contingent of over 60 U.S. athletes, the event promises to be a truly world-class competition.
Michael will be participating in the tricycle events. The action-packed schedule begins today with two days of individual time trials. This will be followed by road races on Sunday and Monday, culminating in the much-anticipated handcycle relay on Monday. There will be a livestream available for the road races and the relay, accessible through the official event website.
In addition to the official event channels, various social media platforms will provide additional coverage and insights. The U.S. Para-cycling Twitter and Instagram accounts will offer updates on the U.S. team‘s progress, while the UCI Para-cycling Twitter account will provide broader coverage of the competition.
Overall, the Huntsville Para-cycling World Cup is poised to be a landmark event, bringing together top para-cyclists from around the globe for an unforgettable display of skill and determination.
Michael participated in last year’s World Cup in Quebec, Canada and in the World Cup earlier this month in Belgium.
