City volunteers place flags on all CL yards

City of Canyon Lake volunteers will be finishing up today the placing of American flags in every Canyon Lake front yard in preparation of the Memorial Day weekend and the honoring of the country’s veterans.

The 4,800 flags were provided by the city. The city also organized volunteers to help with the massive project.

The city will also be installing another 200 flags, as well as a memorial wreath at the Canyon Lake Veterans Memorial Park in the Canyon Lake Town Center.

Each year, the City of Canyon Lake staff and a slew of volunteers place an American flag in the yard of every home for the holiday weekend. They do this to recognize and honor those who serve and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting the nation.

The goal of the project is to have the flags displayed at least through Memorial Day on Monday.
