In Memoriam: Christine Passalacqua

Christine Passalacqua, affectionately known as Chris, was born on July 16, 1936 in Eakly, Oklahoma to her parents Haskell and Sybil Page and died on April 2 in Hemet. Chris was one of eight children, a mother to five, and a grandmother to more than 35. She was married for 32 years to her loving husband David, who preceded her in death.

Chris is survived by her five children Terry Bean, Penny Lawrence, Jim Bean, Joe Bean, Carla Meyer, her five stepchildren Dan Passalacqua, Daleen Barrick, Danell Wheeler, Darren Passalacqua and Daven Passalacqua, her two living siblings Ellen Page and Bob Page as well as too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to mention (all her favorites).

Prior to moving to Hemet, Chris lived in Canyon Lake for 35 years and was part of many events and activities, including the Canyon Lake Twirlers Square Dance Club. Her family holds a lot of memories of their Nana in Canyon Lake, including having picnics at the parks, teaching her grandkids to swim at the pool, and boating/water skiing on the lake.

Chris was a unique soul, and touched the lives of many. She was incredibly generous and thoughtful, but also had a very sassy side to her that often caught people by surprise. She loved her family and her friends, enjoyed their company and spent countless hours entertaining them by playing card games, dice, jacks, hula hoop, and living room beach ball.

She loved to tell a good story, especially if it was from the Bible. She loved to sing songs that told of tragedy and romance. She was well known for her 5:00 a.m. wake-up calls, with breakfast ready to go, anytime anybody stayed at her house. She made every single person feel like they were the most important and loved every person in the world. This was just one of the many amazing qualities she possessed.

She will forever be missed, but we know in our hearts we will see her again in heaven.

Services will be held at Canyon Lake Community Church today (Friday, April 21) at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception for friends and family.
