KK wins Club Championship, invited to PGA club tourney

Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club’s KK Beecher won her third straight Canyon Lake Club Championship last week. With the victory, she earned an invitation to participate in the 2023 PGA National Club Tournament in December.

The three-day Canyon Lake Club Championship Tournament took more than two weeks to complete.  Round 1 was on March 14 in light rain. Round 2 was on March 16, but the final round was rained out and postponed until March 28.

In addition to KK winning the overall championship, each of the four flights had winners announced at the conclusion of the tournament. Those winners were A Flight,  Babette Stubbs; B Flight, Nancy Zimmerman; C Flight, Lorrie Applegate; and D Flight, Linda Hudson.

KK began playing golf only six years ago and immediately took to the game. She has evolved into a top golfer in the club. KK began the sport at Canyon Lake and studied under golf pro Pat Kemball while playing nine-hole tournaments with the Canyon Lake 9ers Golf Club.

KK is set to compete Dec. 12-14 in Scottsdale, Arizona in the PGA National Club Championship.
