English Beat Concert sold out

Concerts at the Lodge promoter Doug Schultz is excited to stage The English Beat at the Lodge May 6. Those who have purchased tickets for the concert are equally excited.

A month prior to the show, tickets have already sold out.

Doug expressed his excitement about bringing the English Beat to Canyon Lake after trying to book the band for seven years.

“This band is in such demand,” Doug said. “They sell out everywhere they go and it’s hard to get a date.”

He was prophetic and accurate. Now the band has also sold out the Canyon Lake concert.

The English Beat, a British new wave band, is known for its high-energy live performances and is led by Dave Wakeling on lead vocals and guitar. The band blends various genres such as ska, pop, soul, reggae, latin and punk rock into its music.

Beyond Race Magazine gave the band outstanding reviews.

“There are certain things one just isn’t bold enough to ever expect…[one] such moment was seeing ska legends/pioneers English Beat,” the magazine said in a review. “I’ve spent countless evenings at ska shows while growing up, but this was the perfect first/biggest ska show of [the year}.”

The balance of the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association’s Concerts at the Lodge Series includes Atlanta Rhythm Section on June 17, Deana Carter on Aug. 19, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds on Nov. 4
