Yacht Club to host Sunday after St. Patty’s Cruise

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club will be cruising on the lake March 19 for what it is calling “The Sunday after Saint Patrick‘s Day Cruise.” The Saint Patrick’s Day themed event begins at 4:00 p.m.

“We wanted to allow everyone a day of hangovers to settle down,” Commodore Ron Wilbur said. “We want to make sure everyone is well rested and ready to roll again by Sunday afternoon.”

The cruise will begin with the Yacht Club members and guests wearing green attire and boarding boats at the docks before the cruise and tie-up for the after the party.

“Sure, and begorrah, we’ll be havin’ a fine time celebrating with the lads and the lassies,” Ron said. “I’m personally coming for the food, but some people have said they‘re bringing green beer. Not to raise controversy, but my thoughts on green beer is it just wasn’t allowed to age long enough. Besides, I’m bringing Irish coffee.”

Although the cruise is for Yacht Club members and their guests, nonmembers can join the club just before boarding if they want to participate. The Sunday cruise is one of 12 cruises on the Yacht Club’s event calendar this year.
