Temescal Canyon High School golfer Nixon Lauritzen took first place at the Norman Xiong and Chad Hambright Invitational Monday at the Canyon Lake Golf Course.
The Canyon Lake 11th grader won the championship among the 108 participants from 18 high schools.
Nixon shot a one under par 70 to win the tournament. He was the first TCHS golfer to win it since the tournament’s namesake, Norman Xiong, took the championship more than 10 years ago.
The annual invitational is hosted by the local golf course and honors two legendary TCHS golfers, Norman and Chad.
The TCHS team is coached by Mason Dool.
