CL athlete making big first impression in Vermont

After having starred as a pitcher and hitter on her Vista Murrieta High School softball team for two years, Canyon Lake’s Chandler Jamie “CJ” Davidson is in Vermont at Saint Michael’s College and is off to a hot start.

CJ, after only six games, has three triples and is only two shy of the school’s all-time triples season record. The freshman is hitting .375 with those three triples and has scored five runs and has collected five RBI. CJ, in addition to playing the outfield, is also a right-handed pitcher and has an impressive 1.17 earned run average after having yielded just two runs in 12 innings pitched.

Hitting triples is a rare feat at the school. The entire team over the past two years (64 games) had just three triples. Now, CJ has three in six games.

Saint Michael’s College is located in Colchester, VT. The team plays schools from all over the midwestern and eastern United States.

CJ is the daughter of Jamie Davidson and Sabrinna Waegner. Jamie played baseball at the University of California, Santa Barbara during his college days. CJ is a media studies, journalism and digital arts major, and a criminology minor.

She played three years of tennis, two years of softball and one year of soccer at Vista Murrieta High School and earned softball‘s C.L.A.S.S. Award.
