Canyon Lake City officials say goodbye to its city clerk

Ana Sauseda, who served as the Canyon Lake City Clerk for just under five years, resigned to take the same position with the City of Yucaipa. Her final day at the city was March 9.

She will join Chris Mann at the City of Yucaipa, who took the city manager position there after having served in Canyon Lake as its city manager. Ana’s title in Yucaipa is Director of General Services/City Clerk.

Ana Sauseda addresses the Canyon Lake City Council after being honored during last week’s City Council Meeting. Ana served as the Canyon Lake city clerk for just under five years.

The new City of Canyon Lake city clerk is Sheryl Garcia.

“Working for the City of Canyon Lake has been the most amazing experience of my career,” Ana said. “I truly enjoyed working with each and every one of you.”

Members of the city council surprised Ana at the City Council Meeting last week as councilmembers rose to give thanks to Ana for her service.

“We have made a donation together to pay for your next Green Bay Packers ticket,” Mayor Jeremy Smith said. “We absolutely love you.”

Members of the city council thanked Ana for providing service above and beyond what was expected of her.

“You were out in our community for Memorial Day putting flags in our neighbors’ land and in our residences‘ yards,” Kasey Castillo said. “You came on your days off and joined in our community events and you don’t even live here.”
