The Canyon Lake 9er’s Women’s Golf Club had an amazing day of perfect weather, abundant laughter and great golf last week at its “Love and Friendship” themed Valentine’s Tournament.
More than 50 men and women teamed up to play nine holes of “Partner’s Best Ball” golf. Flights A and B were each awarded five prizes.
The results were: Flight A – 1st Place Gross Score, Bob and Kathy Sanchez. Flight A Net Score, Roger and Linda Kielty, Tom and Paula Hirsch, Steve and Denise Viotti, John and Alice Giambra and Martha Golia. Flight B – 1st Place Gross Score, Dan Buckley and Helen Sullivan. The “Closest to the Pin” winner on Hole 8 was Tess Welch.
“Golf Pro Pat Kimball and his crew were especially helpful throughout the day,” the club’s Sandy Dawson said. “The Valentine Tournament Planning Committee, consisting of Nancy Tice, Denise Viotti, Linda Kielty, Diane Faris, Rose Girard and Mavis Schutz, planned and provided a great day for all who participated.”
The 9er’s honored one of its founding members, Helen Sullivan, at the luncheon held at the conclusion of the tournament. All three of her sons played golf with her in last week’s tournament and came from Georgia, Arizona and California to be present and to support their mother as she was honored at the luncheon.
