Canyon Lake girls help TCHS to CIF title

A coach, the captain and 16 athletes from Canyon Lake helped the Temescal Canyon High School varsity cheer team win the CIF Traditional Cheer Southern Regional title. With the prestigious win, the team is practicing for Nationals on Feb. 24 and 25.

The Temescal Canyon High School Varsity Competition Cheer Team puts on its routines at the CIF Regional Championships. The team, made up of many Canyon Lake girls, won the title and is now headed to the Nationals.

Chantel Bristow from Canyon Lake is one of four coaches on the varsity team. Canyon Lake’s Kennedy Benham is the team captain and those on the team from Canyon Lake are Skyler Benham, Ryann Boshard, Kynsli Bangora, Hailey Berry, McKenzie Cassara, Emma Cole, Emily Graham, Ava Jaffe, Rula Katsouridis, Sawyer Lanouette, Serenity Llorin, Carisa Ronchetti, Summer Scott, Stefani Uribe, Kaitlyn Usary and Allyson Villarreal.
