Homes win Christmas decorating contest
The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club has announced the winners of its Annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest.
There were 16 homes that entered the contest. Homeowners entered into one of the four categories: Canyon Lake Spirit, Home-Made Decor, Merry and Bright and Best Theme.
Judges were out in the community on Saturday and Sunday evening and named the following winners:
Canyon Lake Spirit are 1st place, 22010 Village Way, winning $100 and a trophy and 2nd place, 29195 Yosemite Place, winning $50.

Merry and Bright winners are 1st place, 30437 Emperor Dr., winning $100 and a trophy, 2nd place, 29216 winning $50 and 3rd place, 30461 Greenbriar Ct. winning $25.
Home-Made Decor winner is 1st place, 30013 Happy Hunter, winning $100.
Best Theme winners are 1st place, 29805 Santa Maria (Up on the Roof Top) winning $100 and a trophy, 2nd place 22970 Canyon Lake Dr. So. (Merry Minion Christmas) winning $50 and 3rd place, 23007 Canyon Lake Dr. No. (A Hallmark Christmas) winning $25.
The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club Founder Shawna Bowen said the club was thankful for everyone in the community who decorated whether they entered in the contest or not. The club also wanted to extend a special thank you to the judges who took the time to drive around and look at all the homes, she said.
“We truly appreciate everyone who made this a special contest,” Shawna said. “Congratulations everyone.”

Merry and Bright winner is 30437 Emperor Dr. Cash awards of $100 went to first place winners, $50 to second place winners and $25 to third place winners. There were 16 homes that entered the contest put on by the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club.
