Santa arriving in antique red truck for a photo-op

The community of Canyon Lake is invited to have pictures taken with Santa tonight and tomorrow night at 22157 Pecos Pl. from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Santa will arrive on a red antique truck around 5:45 p.m and he’ll be ready for photos beginning at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come early to greet Santa as he makes his entrance.

Blake and Debbie Jones, along with their neighbors on Pecos Place decided during the pandemic in 2020 to do something nice for the kids of Canyon Lake, so they got together, put up extra lights between the houses and across the street, set up a backdrop for Santa pictures and sold hot chocolate.

Santa was there for the kids and he’ll be there again this year. This is the third annual Pecos Place ‘Take a Picture with Santa’ event.

The first year, the residents of Pecos Place welcomed over 100 families and there were even more last year.

“We have more and more fun each year,” Blake Jones said. “We’re excited to have Santa back again this year.”

The neighborhood keeps adding to the decorations in an effort more an even more festive event.

“We’ve added more lights and decorations,” Blake said. “Card My Yard donated a 20’ x 5’ Merry Christmas sign that will be available for pictures. We plan on having some sort of food and snacks, too.”

The event is free, but those coming are encouraged to bring toys to donate.

“We are asking for donations of unwrapped toys to be given to the Canyon Lake Fire Department to support the Spark of Love Toy Drive,” Blake said.

“My wife and I and all the neighbors of Pecos Place want to welcome all our Canyon Lake friends and their families to come by.”
