Hundreds of kids flock to the dock for a picture with Santa

Hundreds of Canyon Lake kids and their parents swarmed the Canyon Lake North Ski Area dock to get their picture taken with Santa on Saturday morning. The Canyon Lake Water Ski Club has been hosting this free event for nearly 40 years.

Kids, young and older, came and stood at the North Ski Area pavilion and watched as Santa arrived on a boat. Santa made his way up to his special seat where kids sat on his lap and told them their life stories and gave him details of what they’ve been doing this past year and what some of their wishes were for Christmas morning.

The Ski Club changed the name of the event this year to Pictures With Santa and hosts the event for community children to have such a unique experience with Santa. Pictures with the lake as a backdrop are perfect for posting to friends and family who live in colder climates.

Snacks were provided and Santa’s helpers gave out candy canes to the little ones and helped with a few family photos.
