Jr. Women’s Boutique helps shoppers’ Christmas buying

Hundreds of shoppers picked up gifts for those on their Christmas lists at The Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club Annual Sip and Shop Holiday Boutique at the Canyon Lake Lodge Saturday.

Christy Williams was the head of the committee for Sip and Shop this year.

“We had over 50 vendors this year, 25 of which were new vendors who joined us this year.” Christy said. “We rebranded the boutique and gave it a new name. We were also happy to welcome back the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club this year.”

The Jr. Women’s Club didn’t have the boutique in 2020 due to the pandemic and last year was limited because the club was just getting back into events.

“We were really happy when the Woman’s Club said yes when we invited them to join us this year to sell tickets for their upcoming Holiday Home Tour and Tree Raffle,” Christy said.

Another group to join in on the event was the recently-formed Canyon Lake Walkers and Runners Group.

“They handed out water bottles and told whoever was interested about their new group,” she said. “ I want to thank the POA on behalf of the JWC for making sure we had everything we needed to make this event possible.”

Erin Ryder, owner of Pepe’s in the Canyon Lake Town Center, is a new member of the Junior Women‘s Club who took on decorating the Holiday Bay Room and the exterior Lodge grass area with blow ups and other Christmas decor. Vendors sold their wares both inside and outside the Lodge.

“I am grateful for everyone who came out to shop today,” the club’s Renee Griffiths said. “This is a short and sweet event, but it is so awesome. I am grateful for all our vendors. The amount of gifts donated by our vendors for the raffles was incredible. I also want to thank Christy Williams for all her hard work. She crushed it.”

Junior Women‘s Club President Jonda Morton said she enjoyed a little shopping with her new baby Bella. Jonda also made sure to check in with the Sip and Shop committee along with various vendors to make sure everything was going well for everyone.

“I want to thank the members of the Sip and Shop committee for all their hard work,” Jonda said. “Committee members Christy Williams, Lisa Oliver and Megan French worked so hard to make today perfect. I also want to thank all the vendors who made today possible. I want to thank everyone who came out today to support the Sip and Shop and I hope everyone had a wonderful time.”

The Sip and Shop Holiday Boutique isn’t the club’s biggest event, but “it is one of the funnest,” Christy said.
