Yacht Club gearing up for Parade of Lights

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club is preparing for its 40th Annual Parade of Lights celebration and is inviting Canyon Lake boat owners to begin planning their entries.

The parade will take place on Dec. 10 and will begin at Eastport and continue to Eastbay towards the causeway.

The event will dazzle once again thousands of residents and their guests as the line of brightly-decorated boats traverses the lake behind the iconic fire and smoke belching Green Dragon boat.

Sponsorship is now open for the parade. Businesses interested in being a part of the parade are invited to contact the club’s Ron Wilbur at ronwilbur@gmail.com or at 949-466-6159 for more information on sponsoring and leveraging their sponsorship to maximize the promotional benefits.

Funds from the sponsorship will help provide funds for Canyon Lake Yacht Club college scholarships for some of Canyon Lake’s students.

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club has produced the Parade of Lights since its inception in 1982, marking its history as the oldest holiday boat parade in the Inland Empire.

The Canyon Lake Yacht Club was established in 1990 by Canyon Lake residents who loved to get out on the lake. Since then, the club has also operated as a social and philanthropic club within the Canyon Lake constellation of sanctioned clubs and organizations.

To enter the parade, boat owners should go to the club’s website at www.canyon
lakeyachtclub.com for tips on decorating boats for the parade and for other instructions on registering.
