CL Library releases schedule for next month

The Canyon Lake’s next art event will be held on Nov. 21 from 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. A new art medium is introduced every month.

NaNoWriMo Sprint Write is held every Monday in November from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and NaNoWriMo Come Write will be held every Saturday in November from noon to 3:00 p.m.

NaNoWriMo, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month, is held every November and it encourages writers to write 50,000 words in 30 days. That equates to an average of 1,667 words per day. This novel approach is a great way to motivate writers to start a new project or make rapid progress on a current one.

Browse the official website for more information and/or to sign up and add your project at https://nanowrimo.org. The NaNoWriMo is open to those ages 13 and up.

Toddler Story Time is every Wednesday, beginning at 10:30 a.m, for children 1-6. Miss Ginny or Miss Grechen share their favorite stories and a free craft.

Bilingual story time is on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Stories are read in both English and Spanish. The story time is perfect for children learning a second language.

Tales for Tails is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children are invited in to read to Luna or Comet, the library’s certified therapy dachshunds.

Learn to Sew will be held on Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those attending should bring a sewing machine and learn to use it to make simple projects that can be started and completed during class. This class is for children age 10 and up.

Learn to Dungeons and Dragons on the first Friday of the month from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is a different class every month taught by Dungeon Master Kim Loaner. Dice will be available or patrons can bring their own favorite set. Cosplay dress is optional.

Homebuyers Road Map will be held on Nov. 19 at 11:00 a.m. The class is available to anyone interested in learning to navigate or prevent as many roadblocks as possible in the important journey to home ownership.
