POA announces 2023 Concerts at the Lodge lineup

The Canyon Lake POA and its promoter Doug Schultz have announced the 2023 Concerts at the Lodge line up, which will include four concerts beginning in February.

Tickets for upcoming concerts will be available as they have in the past by going to the Canyon Lake POA website or by purchasing at Member Services at the Canyon Lake POA office in the Canyon Lake Town Center. Tickets are only available for purchase by POA members.

Launching the Concerts at the Lodge series will be Don Dokken on Feb. 11, followed by The English Beat on June 17. Deana Carter will be performing on Aug. 19 and wrapping up the 2023 POA Concerts at the Lodge will be The Fabulous Thunderbirds on Nov. 4.

Don Dokken is an American singer and musician best known for being lead singer and founder of the glam metal band Dokken. Don is known for his vibrato-laden, melodic vocal style which has made him a figure in heavy metal/glam metal.

The English Beat is a British band that formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band‘s music fuses Latin, ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock.

Deana Carter is an American country singer and songwriter whose debut album “Did I Shave My Legs for This?” included her hit song Strawberry Wine in 1996.

The Fabulous Thunderbirds is a quintessential American band and has been performing for over 30 years.

The band has a distinctive and powerful sound which is influenced by a variety of musical styles. It has manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid with songs such as Tuff Enuff and Wrap It Up.

Kim Wilson, the sole original member and co-founder, still spearheads the group as it evolves into its newest incarnation.

“We started as a straight blues band,” Kim said. “We now incorporate a mixture of a lot of different styles. We’re an American band and we have a much higher energy than we were before. The thread throughout the T-Birds career has been the respect the group commanded for its peerless musicianship and devotion to the sounds of blues, and rock ‘n roll.”

The lineup includes Kim Wilson, lead vocals and harmonica, Steve Kirsty, bass, Kris Jensen, saxophone, Rudy Albin, drums, Dean Shott, guitar, Carl Sonny Leyland, piano and Jerry Weldon, tenor saxophone.
