Out and About With The Friday Flyer

Two separate pairs of Canyon Lake couples set sail on the same Sapphire Princess Cruise Ship late last month with copies of their Friday Flyers, neither group knowing about the other. But, both posed with their local newspaper and submitted details of their trips for publication in The Friday Flyer after they returned last week.

Canyon Lakers Jim Hamilton, his wife Linda Hamilton and Linda’s sisters Carol Anderson and Laurie Harper were delighted with their 10-day trip as they visited the “Aquarium of the World” during their four-port stops at Loreto, La Paz, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.

“The seas were calm, weather was warm, food was delicious, and the entertainment was amazing,” Linda said. “We all love playing in the water. The ocean was so clear you could see many schools of fish swim right past your body.”

Meanwhile, on the same cruise, were Maryann Kay, Harry Larson, Hugh Wagner and Rita Crocker, all from Canyon Lake. They likewise enjoyed the cruise’s stops and amenities.

The Gulf of California, also known as the Sea of Cortez, is a marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean that separates the Baja California Peninsula from the Mexican mainland.

The cruise departed from the Port of Los Angeles, where it returned 10 days later on Nov. 2.
