Club holds drive-in movie night as monthly meeting

The Canyon Lake Car Club held its Annual Drive-in Movie Night at a collector’s massive garage last week to watch a movie and enjoy the classic cars on display. More than 60 club members came out on the chilly night to watch The Blues Brothers movie and salivate over the cars.

On the menu was Chick-fil-a, hot chocolate, margaritas, popcorn and licorice – the perfect menu for a cold night and a “drive-in” movie.

The Canyon Lake Car Club members brought chairs and blankets and set up theater style on the large concrete pad outside the mancave garage.

Inside the garage, Car Club members were welcomed by their host to enjoy walking around the stylish garage to enjoy the many varieties of cars the collector had on hand.

A 50/50 raffle sent the winner, David Thompson, home with $75. David and his wife Tammy have been Canyon Lake Car Club members for about a year. The drive-in movie event was an opportunity for them to share their 30 Model A with other club members for the first time.

“Our car has been in the shop so much over the last year, but we are super excited to have it here tonight,” Tammy said.
