Triathlon and Fitness Club makes donation, to hold run

With proceeds from its recent Canyon Lake Paddle and Pedal Regatta, The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club presented a donation of $500.00 to the Canyon Lake Theater Group recently. Theater Group President Bobby Swan accepted the check and expressed his gratitude for the donation.

“The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club wants to say thanks to everyone who donated at the recent Paddle and Pedal Regatta,” the club’s Karin Cassidy said. “We hope this money helps to ensure future theater productions in our beautiful community.”

The Triathlon Club is also hosting a Fall Kick-Off 5K/10K Run/Walk on Oct. 15. The community is invited to the event and is encouraged to participate in preparation for the popular Turkey Trot the club sponsors on Thanksgiving Day.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.

The 5K course (3.1) will start at the Lodge, turn left onto Canyon Lake Drive to Santa Maria Drive, then return following the same route.

The 10K (6.2) follows the same route, but turns right onto Vacation Drive to the North Ski Course and then turns back to the Lodge. The 10K course offers lake views and a few challenging hills. There is no need to pre-register, but participants do need to R.S.V.P by 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 12 by e-mailing canyonlaketriclub@gmail.com.
