Canyon Lake skiers compete in France

Canyon Lake Ski Club members Diana Sue Parker and Dee Johnson took to the waters in Bordeaux, France to compete at the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation Tournament last week.

Dee finished 2nd overall in the Men’s 65+ Division after finishing 3rd in the Jump, 5th in the Tricks and 17th in the Slalom. Diana took a crash in the preliminaries on her second jump and wasn’t able to compete in slalom or trick.

This is the first time in six International Championships that Diana did not make the finals.

“I felt honored to have qualified for such an amazing experience,” she said.

“From the opening ceremonies that overlooked the gorgeous grapevines and rivers to all the practice rides managed just perfectly by Ski Nautique Club de Bordeaux, to the preliminary and finals, with the amazing lunches, dinners and wine and cheese parties, the reunion party and of course the closing ceremonies, I am thankful and I say thank you to Ski Nautique Club de Bordeaux for supporting all of us.”

Team USA won the Team Gold.
