Canyon Lake Library schedules October events

The Canyon Lake Library wraps up its September events this week and has schedule the month of October in an attempt to entice Canyon Lake families to come to the library and participate in its events.

The Homebuyers Road Map event will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 11:00 a.m.

A PFIZER Vaccination Clinic will take place at the library on Sept. 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is taking place for those who need a second vaccine or booster shot. Infant/toddler/pediatric vaccines are also available. Register online at https://tinyurl.com/8fcky4wa or in person at the library.

Adult Book Club is on the last Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to come and discuss literature with the Library. The club of adult readers meets at the end of the month to discuss the selected material over light snacks. Newcomers are always welcome.

Interested parties may pick up their copy of the monthly book at the circulation desk. Book Club picks span from Westerns, Biographies, Mysteries and more.

Bilingual Storytime is on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month where stories are read in both Spanish and English. This is perfect for young children learning a second language.

Tales for Tails is on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come in and read to Luna or Comet, certified therapy dogs.

Learn to Sew will take place Oct. 5 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants need to bring a sewing machine and learn how to use it to make simple projects that can be started and completed during class.

The October class will be sewing Halloween Treat Bags. Students need to bring in a half yard of their favorite Halloween fabric. This is for children ages 10 and up. Participants should register online.

Learn to…Dungeons and Dragons will take place Oct. 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“Do you have so many stories running around in your head and want to share them with others? Have you taken the previous classes and decided that you’d like to try your hand at running the game?” Canyon Lake Library Branch Manager Kim Pike said. “Register for our Become a Dungeon Master Class. Taught by DM Erik, you’ll benefit from his 30-plus years of running campaigns. Loaner dice will be available, or you can bring your own favorite set.”

Bored Play Day is on the 3rd Friday of the month at 3:30 p.m. Games, puzzles and coloring for those who are bored.
