Juliana’s Lemonade Stand at Indian Beach to raise funds

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the Juliana Garcia family is holding a fundraiser along with raffles in an effort to raise money for NEGU, a nonprofit organization that helps kids and their families battling cancer.

The Lemonade Stand the Garcias are manning will open tomorrow (Saturday) at Indian Beach from noon to 3:00 p.m. The proceeds from the lemonade sales will be combined with funds received from Canyon Lakers making monetary donations and from a huge raffle being held tomorrow.

The Garcia family is no stranger to childhood cancer. Juliana was diagnosed at the age of three with cancer. Juliana went through six months of chemotherapy with her family by her side.

Juliana, after 17 checkups following the removal of her port in May 2016, is still thriving and as her mom Cara says, Juliana is definitely the stronger one through all of this.

Why the lemonade stand? Juliana wants to give back to the organizations that were there for her family. This will be the fourth time the family has opened their Lemonade Stand to raise funds for cancer-related causes.

“I wanted to do the lemonade stand because it’s fun and we get to help kids that are really sick,” she said. “I missed doing them during COVID-19.”

Juliana said she wanted to thank the people in Canyon Lake for always helping her raise so much money and she hopes they come again this year.

The Lemonade Stand will be raffling off some very valuable items that have been donated by the community.
