Free concerts and fun at Harbor Fest tomorrow

“Our only goal is that the community have an enjoyable day with family and friends.”

Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild President Bonnie Dubbs shared the club’s goal for tomorrow’s (Saturday) Harbor Fest event at Holiday Harbor. The club holds tribute concerts at the Lodge throughout the year and charges for admission. However, at Harbor Fest, the concert is free. All that is required, she said, is to have an enjoyable day with family and friends.

Well before the main RagDolls Concert at 7:00 p.m., the day will be full of other fun activities.

The park will open at 3:00 p.m.

Kings of Karma will provide live music for the crowd’s listening pleasure beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Kings of Karma band combines styles of music ranging from Led Zeppelin to The Rolling Stones and to even the Beatles.

Food trucks will be at the park. Other food will be provided by vendors, including the Canyon Lake Junior Women‘s Club, that will be selling beer, wine and margaritas, and a number of vendors selling other food, items, and services. Among the vendors will be the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club providing face painting.

Menu items for purchase for the picnic in the park will be various charcuterie boards, Italian subs, salads, BBQ, Mexican food, Tiki Treats, and Dole Whip. Of course, those attending can bring their own food and coolers.

Any personal items, including chairs left at the park before 10:00 a.m., will be removed and placed in the lost and found area.

The concert will take place in the Holiday Harbor Amphitheater. Because of the terraced levels, both sizes of chairs will be accommodated. The club encourages those to simply be courteous of those sitting nearby. Feel free to bring blankets, low beach chairs or high back camping chairs to sit in the non-reserved areas.

Whether sitting in the non-reserved tier section or anywhere else at the venue, even in a boat behind the stage, those attending the concert can be sure to enjoy a very special and memorable experience.

RagDolls, an all female Aerosmith Tribute Band, will begin its concert at 7:00 p.m. RagDolls, The Ultimate Aerosmith Tribute is dedicated to recreating Aerosmith’s iconic sound, energy and stage presence with their well-tailored, high voltage live production.

The group will be covering all of the recognizable material from Aerosmith‘s five decades as one of America’s rock and roll legends.  RagDolls deliver blistering true-to-sound reproductions for fans of both the classic rock period as well as the more recent MTV era hits.

These women of rock pay homage to the Bad Boys from Boston in full regalia, paying special attention to the little details that define a genuine Aerosmith experience.

The band is sure to leave the audience with the same Aerosmith buzz it would expect from the real thing: The screams, the swagger and the scarves, all with a cherry on top.

The set list should include songs Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, Dream On, Last Child, Livin‘ on the Edge, Cryin‘, I Don‘t Want To Miss a Thing, What It Takes, Love in an Elevator, Ragdoll, The Other Side, Janie‘s Got a Gun, Toys in the Attic, Mama Kin, Same Old Song and Dance, Back in the Saddle, Draw the Line, and Train Kept A-Rollin‘.

Volunteers are still needed with the set-up and tear-down of the equipment and other such things, Bonnie said. Those interested in helping can reach out to the club at canyonlakeguild@gmail.com. Volunteers will have reserved seating. Due to a lack of staffing, there will be no golf carts available for shuttle service, Bonnie said.
