In Memoriam: Raymond Neal Perry

On Aug. 14, 2022, Raymond Neal Perry passed away in Warren, Oregon of natural causes (a broken heart). Raymond was 89 years old at the time of his passing.

Raymond’s wife, Kary Lee Perry, preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Renee, Suzanne, Michael, and step-children Chris, Steven, Lynn, and John, along with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepson Dennis.

Raymond was born on Dec. 28, 1932 in Danville, Virginia. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 9, 1954 to Aug. 6, 1956. He served in the Army Intelligence Wing and separated from the Army with a rank of SP4.

He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts and from LaSalle University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Law. Raymond retired in 1994 from Global Marine Drilling Company, Inc. as Senior Vice President and General Counsel after a 25-year career with the company.

Raymond was well traveled. He enjoyed traveling for business and with his wife Kary before and after retirement. He was a long-time resident of Canyon Lake and a member of the Tuesday Work Group at the golf course. He was a dedicated golfer and tennis player.

He devoted his life to his wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service for Raymond is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Evan’s-Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Dr., Menifee, CA 92585. It will be immediately followed by a burial ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery.
