Patrons celebrates a year in new library

The Canyon Lake Library celebrated its one-year anniversary at its new location in the Canyon Lake Town Center Monday by handing out cupcakes and painting sun catchers.

Children gather around during Story Time at the Canyon Lake Library. Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. is Story Time with Miss Ginny or Miss Gretchen.

With the celebration comes another month of busy activity at the library. September looks to be a busy month beginning on Sept. 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with Learn to… Dungeons and Dragons.

The Dungeons and Dragons class will teach newbies how to create their own character and learn about the different types of characters, classes, and backgrounds in the game.

DM Kim will show participants how to roll the dice for stats, how to choose what the character looks like, what motivates them and how they were raised. Loaner dice will be available or those attending can bring their own favorite set.

Every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. is Story Time with Miss Ginny or Miss Gretchen. The Story Time is ideal for children ages 1 to 6. They will share their favorite stories and create a craft provided for free by the library.

On the first and third Friday of each month at 11:00 a.m., it’s bilingual storytime fun for all ages. The unique storytime is made available to all who are looking for Spanish-language immersion through a bilingual story time. Along with the story reading are free crafts, snacks and fun.
