Letter: Patriotism on display

Editor,
The Friday Flyer:

Wow! Ask a group of Canyon Lake residents to help display how patriotic our city is and what do you get? More than 50 volunteers to help you do it.

What started out as an idea of our City of Canyon Lake Memorial Day Committee, turned into a wonderful display for all our residents and our city. With the assistance of our wonderful volunteers, nearly 4,800 flags were placed at each home in Canyon Lake.

As Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country, we are honored and privileged to pay tribute to them by this display.

The City of Canyon Lake Memorial Day Committee of City Clerk Ana Sauceda, Council Member Kasey Castillo and Council Member Jennifer Dain give a huge “Thank you” to all our volunteers:

Amanda Yates, City Clerk Ana Sauseda, Arya Khoshal, Barry Ward, Brittany Tibbet, Christina Taltoan, Christy Williams, CLFD – Captain Brennain Gorter, CLFD Engineer Chico Sanchez, CLFD Reserve James Sanchez, Dave Dain, Dawn Ecclefield, Debby Gagnon, Deborah Kalic, Dimitry Robinson, Donna Nunes, Barry Talbot, Donna Ritchie, Eric Shrader, Fran Tibbit, Chuck Gentz, Selene Gentz, Jeannie Hoonnirun, Jenniver Lawrence, Iris Stricklin, Mayor Jeremy Smith, Jerry Curran, Barbie Curran, Jim Lange, John Grande, Calista Magee, Juanita Robles, Paul Robles, Judith Bock, Karen Bevans, Karen Terry, Blake Youngquist, Council Member Kasey Castillo, Griffin Castillo, Kathy Paul, Lindsey Clark, Paul Gallagher, Paul Hawker, Theresa Fidler, Pei Pei Gunter, Dennis Reams, Michelle Reams, Renee Griffiths, Ruby Manzano, Shawna Bowen, Steve Oskey, Pam Oskey, Tim Cook, Tyler Ferrari, Matt Thomas, Luke Thomas, and Susan Gamble.

We appreciate the hard work and heart that went into this project!
