Canyon Lake Club Rush tomorrow

Many of the Canyon Lake Clubs will be at their booths from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holiday Harbor tomorrow (Saturday) to tell Canyon Lakers about the benefits of their clubs and to get participants signed up.

In addition to the club booths, others will be on hand for fun and to introduce Canyon Lakers to their businesses.

Each club will have a booth, hosted by its members where questions can be asked and new members can sign up. Businesses will be on hand with their booths to introduce themselves to the community as well.

Club Rush, which is put on by the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club, is a great way to see what is happening in the community as well as make new friends with similar interests.

Each club will have a club-ribbon that visitors can add to their badges, Shawna Bowen, Family Matters Club founder, said. Those attending the Club Rush will also have an opportunity at winning a Grand Prize Basket.

All those in attendance will be given a Club Rush Passport to take around to all the booths.

Each booth will stamp the passport, and once the passport is filled with the required amount of stamps, the completed Club Rush Passport will be put into a bucket with other completed passports and a winner will be drawn.

The booths will have something fun to do from games to crafts. There will be a free kids fun zone with games along with a booth where kids can get their faces painted.

The snack bar will also be open to purchase snacks such as nachos, hot dogs and other treats.

Throughout the event, clubs and businesses will have a chance to sign up as a team to compete against other teams for prizes and trophies. A best decorated booth contest will be held, which was won last time by the Canyon Lake Yacht Club.

Competitions such as Foot Pool and Human Horse Racing are being organized for the fun of those at the event.

Foot Pool is played much like billiards, but the balls are kicked on the grass instead of hit with cue sticks on a table.

Clubs can sign up for the events at the Club Rush to compete for trophies in both games.

“We can’t wait for everyone to come out and see that it’s the clubs that make Canyon Lake so great,” Shawna said.

“The main point is for a fun afternoon that allows for many potential new members and customers to come and visit each club booth.”
