Lotus Elise wins Car of Month

The Canyon Lake Car Club named its April Car of the Month winner at its monthly car club meet and greet. This month‘s winner is Dory Thompson with her 2005 Lotus Elise.

Dory said the Lotus only has about 14,000 miles on it, simply because it’s not really a daily car she drives, she said.

Dory purchased the car when she and her husband Ted Thompson sold their business. She found the car in San Diego.

“Buying the car was my treat, treat when we sold the business,” Dory said. “We have enjoyed it ever since.”

When Dory first got the Lotus, she took it out to the Buttonwillow track and took a driving lesson with an instructor.

“The car reacts to just a hair of touch to the steering wheel,” Dory said. “It will sntach the jam right off the bread.”

The car club invites all in the community to come out each month to see the displayed cars and encourages community members to bring their own unique cars to display.
