Chart-topping guitarist to open for Jim Messina

David Maldonado, a renowned Spanish guitarist and composer, will be the opening act for the Jim Messina Concerts at the Lodge Series Concert on April 16.

David, from San Diego, has music running through his blood and at only eight years old was an accomplished violinist and was totally immersed in Bach and Mozart.

By age 10, he knew the guitar was his golden ticket and when he was just 14 he was playing classical guitar concerts and began studying under The Royal Family of the Classical Guitar.

David has traveled and toured the world. He’s recorded music for Hollywood movies and has composed two symphonies.

After the concert in Canyon Lake next month, he travels to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall on April 25.

David’s music reflects and brings forth the beauty that is inherent in traditional classical music all while reflecting the passion of upbeat rhythms and fascinating gypsy scales of Flamenco.

David’s energy is sure to get the audience prepped and excited for the Jim Messina Concert which will follow.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:00 p.m.
