CL to host major USTA tournament next week

Dozens of tennis players from throughout southern California will converge on Canyon Lake and vye for part of $3,000 in guarantee prize money being awarded at the Canyon Lake Open next weekend.

The United States Tennis Association matches will take place Feb. 4-6 on the courts at both the Canyon Lake Tennis Club and Temescal Canyon High School.

One of the tournament’s attraction to the participants is not only the prize money, but the picturesque location of the tennis courts up against the lake.

There is an entry fee to participate, but not to attend. Canyon Lakers are encouraged to come out and watch the competition.
