Club offering free pickleball lessons to all tomorrow

Canyon Lake adults are being invited to participate in Canyon Lake Pickleball Club’s free lessons tomorrow (Saturday) from noon to 4:00 p.m. on the pickleball courts at the Lodge.

No reservations are necessary, the club’s Steve Libring said.

“Just show up any time between noon and 4:00 p.m. with your tennis shoes on and some comfy clothes,” Steve said. “We’ll provide the rest of what you need and teach you the skill, rules, game play and strategy.”

Those who find the sport to their liking are invited to join the fast-growing club. Pickleball is for all ages and all levels of skill. The game is very easy to learn and improvement comes quickly, Steve said.

“Come join the three million others who are already playing the fastest-growing sport in America and see how much fun it is,” he said. “With the New Year, resolutions often come. If one of your resolutions is to play pickleball, then you are in luck, because the Pickleball Club is hosting free lessons for all adults living in our little bit of paradise.”

Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis and tennis. It’s a game where two or four players can play at a time. It’s a great family sport or a sport where you can come out and meet new people who live in the Canyon Lake community, Steve said.
