Quilters group donates Quilt of Valor to veteran

The Canyon Lake Quilters group put in hours of labor sewing a special Quilt of Valor with the eventual goal of donating it to a Canyon Lake veteran. With names placed in a jar during the annual Senior Center Boutique, Frank Casey’s name was drawn and he was given the quilt.

Frank and his daughter Justine stopped by the Senior Center last week where Frank was presented this year’s Quilters Group Quilt of Valor.

Frank served six years in the United States Army and is new to Canyon Lake. Justine and Frank have been in Canyon Lake since March of this year.

After the presentation of the Quilt of Valor, Frank and Justine were invited to have lunch with the Quilters Group. Frank said he couldn’t think of a better way to spend his afternoon than with the amazing ladies who made such a beautiful quilt.

This quilt was created after hours of work by the members of the Canyon Lake Quilters Group. It was given to Frank Casey, a veteran of the United States Army. The group wanted to honor a Canyon Lake veteran.

Frank also said he would lay the quilt on his bed so he could look at it every day and be reminded of not only the wonderful ladies who made it, but of the time and effort that they put into making such a beautiful quilt.
