All invited to Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot walk/run

All Canyon Lakers are invited, come rain or shine, to participate in the Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Turkey Trot. The theme of the run is Move Your Feet Before You Eat!

The event begins at Gault Field with check in at 8:00 a.m. and the race at 9:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to participate in this event and it is free. Participants can walk or run the course and costumes are encouraged.

A limited amount of Turkey Trot T-shirts are available for $10.00 each, or purchasing two or more qualifies for the family package discount.

Participants can sign in and purchase shirts on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Mark Yegsigian, 30224 Longhorn Drive. Shirts will also be available for purchase while supplies last at the race.

The 5K race route begins at Gault Field, crosses Longhorn onto Hoofbeat Way and turns right onto Big Range, left onto Longhorn to Strawberry Lane and back for a distance of 3.1 miles.

Following the 5K there will be a 1K Kids Run that circles the baseball field.

Pumpkin pies will be awarded to the first place male and female adults and treat bags for 1st place male and female 1K kid runners.

The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club will be accepting donations of canned or non-perishable food to donate to a local food pantry.

The club hosts a variety of fitness events throughout the year, including, Tour de Canyon Lake, The Paddle and Pedal Regatta along with monthly triathlons, bike rides, and swim meetups.

Dues to join the club are $30.00 for individuals and $40.00 for families. Membership applications can be accessed at canyonlaketriathlonclub.com or canyonlaketriclub@gmail.com.
