Mermaid Tea Club raises funds for various shelters

The Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club held its first Mermaid Tea and 70 local club members and friends participated Sunday.

The newly sanctioned club served tea, scones, tea sandwiches and a plethora of desserts.

Entertainment was provided by Mermaid Aprile McKinnon.

Money raised from the event will go to helping the various local community needs such as women’s and animal shelters.

According to Mermaid Kellie Welty, everyone in attendance had a wonderful time and they are looking forward to the next Mermaid event.
