CL Tennis Club holds 9/11 Mixer

The Canyon Lake Tennis Club put on its September Mixer while showing honor to 9/11 by dressing in Red, White and Blue for its competitions.

The club used the day as an opportunity to come together and remember the victims of the 9/11 attack, while enjoying friendships with a little mix of competition.

Club members Mary Koster and Danette Colin provided the decorations which honored 9/11. The members were also able to enjoy a nice spread of food before and after their matches.

Jennifer Denson said that the club would like to thank the community for coming out to join and participate in the tournament.

“We give a big thank you to Carlos Hansen and Michelle Porter for helping make the event happen,” Jennifer said. “Their job was especially difficult with a few last minute cancelations.”

“While 9/11 marks one of the worst days in our history, it brought out the best in the U.S. It unified us as a country,” L. Alexander said. “Canyon Lakers stand unified and this is shown by their competitive, yet friendly gatherings, such as seen this past Saturday at the Tennis Club Mixer.”

Mike Porter and Nancy Contreras won most points during the tournament with Mike scoring 24 points and Nancy 21 points. Each winner received $10.00 gift cards.

The winning team was made up of Mike Porter, Michelle Porter, Nancy Contreras, Anthony Hardin, Dawn Wessel and Carlos Hansen.
