2nd Concert at the Lodge features ‘Love and Theft’

Love and Theft, a chart-topping country music duo, will be performing at the Canyon Lake Lodge Sept. 25. Makayla Philips, golden buzzer winner from America’s Got Talent and an American Idol finalist from Temecula, will be the opening act of the second concert of this year’s Concerts at the Lodge Series sponsored by the Canyon Lake POA.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at www.clpoa.com/loveandtheft. Ticket prices are $34.00 for general admission and $54.00 for VIP admission.

Love and Theft is an American country music group founded by Stephen Barker Liles, Eric Gunderson, and Brian Bandas, all three of whom alternated as lead singers and acoustic guitarists. Brian later left the group.

Love and Theft made its chart debut in early 2009 with the single “Runaway,” which reached the Top 10 on Billboard Hot Country Songs. The band’s debut album, World Wide Open, was released later that year.

In 2011, Love and Theft continued as a duo consisting of lifelong friends Stephen and Eric. The duo moved to RCA Records Nashville that year and released the single “Angel Eyes,” which became their first number one single. It and Top 40 singles “Runnin’ Out of Air” and “If You Ever Get Lonely” all appear on their second, self-titled album. A third album, Whiskey on My Breath, followed in 2015.

The duo was nominated for Country Music Association New Artist of the Year and Vocal Duo of the Year in 2012. The following year, they were nominated for Academy of Country Music Awards Top New Vocal Duo/Group and Top Vocal Duo as well as CMT Music Awards’ Duo Video of the Year.

Love and Theft has garnered more than 3 billion radio impressions and over 300 million plays on Pandora and are coming up on 3 million music video streams for the critically acclaimed “Whiskey on My Breath.” The duo is finishing up the final touches on their fourth studio album, which is produced by legendary music icon Jim Ed Norman and will be released on Curb Records later this year.

Makayla, who lived just outside of Canyon Lake before moving to Temecula, headlined one of the COVID-19 restricted Rock the Boat concerts last year where the stage was turned around from the amphitheater and the performers faced the boats in the lake. Makayla will now perform facing the audience on the stage at the Lodge.
