Woman’s Club to host a Gathering of Witches

The Canyon Lake Senior Center is about to be invaded by a whole coven of witches as the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club hosts its annual Gathering of Witches on Oct. 3.

“Calling all witches of any age,” the club said in an invitation to its members and friends.

“Come one, come all. Black cats, witches hats, blood moons and silver spoons. Cauldrons filled with potions and stews, behold Witcharitas and Poison Apple Tarts, too.”

The lunch-time event is open to all who wish to attend.

The entry is $35 each for Senior Witches and $20 for Witches in Training (age 16 and younger). Lunch and desserts will be served and included in the entry fee.

The margaritas and champagne are an additional cost.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the club’s regular philanthropic ventures.

In addition to the food and drinks, there will be raffle opportunities and a basket will be auctioned off in a silent auction, Woman’s Club representative Samantha Gorrell said.

Also, present at the event will be several vendors that will be present for shopping by those in attendance.

Tarot seers, palm readers, witch doctors and all kinds of other fun will be at the Gathering of Witches, Samantha said.

Those attending are typically decked out in the latest witch fashions.

The annual event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
