9th Paddle/Pedal Regatta to be held next week

After taking the year off after COVID-19 restrictions shut it down last summer, the annual Paddle and Pedal Regatta is back. Those with anything that floats and can be paddled or pedaled are invited to the Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club’s 9th Annual Paddle and Pedal Regatta at Indian Beach on Aug. 14 at 10:00 a.m.

The event is open to everyone in the community. There will be a group paddle from Indian Beach to the East Port launch ramp. The Triathlon Club members who are in training are planning to also participate in an approximately one-mile swim.

Following the group paddle, there will not only be an adult paddleboard race, but a kids race, too. Winners will receive medals. Everyone with a non-motorized watercraft like a paddle board, kayak, canoe or pedal boat is welcome to come out and join in the fun.

The club will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 10 for $5.00. Prizes will include beach towels, beach bags, and gift cards. Tickets will be available for purchase the day of the event and winners do not have to be present to win. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Temescal Canyon High School football and youth athletic programs.

The Canyon Lake Triathlon and Fitness Club is looking for local businesses or individuals who might be interested in donating raffle prizes by way of donation. Those interested can reach out to Karin Cassidy at 951-764-9503.

The club is excited and looking forward to a fun filled day on the water, so please come out and join in the fun, Karin said.
