Night out with cops, firefighters Tuesday

The City of Canyon Lake will be partnering with neighboring cities Lake Elsinore and Wildomar to host the National Night Out on Tuesday where residents can mingle with police officers and firefighters. The free event will take place at Summerly Park in Lake Elsinore (near Storm Stadium) from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

The National Night Out is an annual nationwide community-police awareness-raising event held in various cities around the country. The event is created to strengthen the relationship between the public and the local police force.

“This is an amazing event. It brings our community and departments together in a positive setting,” Kasey Castillo, the Mayor of Canyon Lake, said.

“Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, this event was canceled last year, but 2021 is the perfect time for this. I’m excited to see our hard-working heroes. This is a great way to close out summer. I encourage all Canyon Lakers to come.”

Event goers will be able to interact with local police officers, firefighters and display vehicles. There will also be amusements, raffle prizes and food trucks.
