Carol Brooks wins regional skiing events

Carol Brooks, competing in the Women’s 6 Division, took first place in both the Slalom and Trick events at the USA Water Ski and Wake Sports 2021 Western Regional Championships at Laku Landing Lake in Windsor, Colorado last weekend.

The Canyon Lake skier represented the community as did junior skier Kendra Nathan, who also won her events at the regional competition.

Carol won the Slalom event in her Women’s 6 Division with a score of 83.00. Her score of 1,850 in the Trick event was good enough for first place. She did not compete in the Jump event.

Carol is ranked as the No. 2 best Slalom skier in the country in her division, with a top score of 87.67. She also has done well in the Trick event, with a best score this year of 2,237, which ranks her as the fourth best in her division.
