More than 20 show up for bourbon and cigars

Is there a better way to meet new people than over a bourbon cocktail and a cigar? More than 20 people accepted the Canyon Lake POA’s invitation to gather together on the patio of the Canyon Lake Country Club Bar and Grill Thursday night to do just that.

“This was a great event where I could meet fellow Canyon Lakers who enjoy whiskey and cigars, just like me,” Brett Charest said. “I was really happy with the distiller, Brekenridge, and its variety of flavors.”

The Canyon Lake POA hosted this first Bourbon and Cigar night at a cost of $45 and included two old fashioned bourbon cocktails with hickory smoked black cherry and a cigar. It was held on the patio of the Country Club and the weather cooperated.

The event started at 5:00 p.m. with guests trickling in a few at a time. There was laughter and toasting and everyone seemed to have a great time according to guest Tommy Lutynski. He said it was a great way to celebrate his cousin’s birthday and he thought it was a great way to socialize and meet new people and hopes there will be more events like this in the near future.

Brian Bennett, another Bourbon and Cigar guest, turned 50 and said the event was a great way to celebrate a milestone birthday. He enjoyed meeting new friends at the social event.

Brian said everyone was friendly and he feels it’s safe to say, everyone had a great time and they would absolutely come out for more social events at the Country Club.
